REUNITED

Cats Protection received a call from the George Best City Airport last week to say a cat was on the runway!! We went out and picked up a lovely tabby torti cat who was very friendly. On return to the Adoption Centre our latest arrival, who had been christened "Georgie Runway" was scanned for a microchip. Success! We were able to contact her owners and the cat (Real Name Luna) was returned. She must have climbed into a delivery van because Luna lives in Newtownabbey! This is a good example of why microchipping is a great idea.















REUNITED!
Today at the Centre Flossie aka Fudge was reunited with her owner Ms Nuala McLaughlin. She disappeared in Antrim last October and turned up in Doagh this week. Nuala saw our Facebook post and came up today to see if our cat turned out to be Fudge. There were tears as the 2 were reunited!

CHUBBA   AND    DAMIEN

CHUBBA  Hey Damien I'm bored. What are you up to?
DAMIEN   I can't get off my heatpad it's so cold out there. Wish someone would fall in love with me and take me home. 
               I like the finer things in life - central heating, a comfortable bed and Animal Planet on TV. What more could a
               cat want?
CHUBBA  Food man food! Me love my food and lots of it!!
DAMIEN   Sort of shows Chubba man!
CHUBBA  I like my shape - all the people who come in to see us seem to think I'm cute.
DAMIEN   So how come they don't take you home then?
CHUBBA  Well maybe I just don't like the look of them! I think it's because I am FIV positive maybe.
DAMIEN   Yeah me too - the humans don't seem to understand the condition at all and are even a little afraid of it.
CHUBBA   How did you get it Damien?
DAMIEN    Well I blame the big grey cat I used to fight with on the outside! He was a big bruiser and he was always
                 calling me names and picking fights with me.
CHUBBA  I had my fair share of bust ups too but then again it could have been one of my lady friends.....
DAMIEN   You wish big fella!!
CHUBBA  When's dinner anyway?
DAMIEN   Thought you were on a diet?
CHUBBA   I am and I don't think much of it. The gravy's ok but the meat is not best roast that's for sure. The men in
                 green coats said I was fat!!   Me??? I'm just cuddly - it's how the ladies like me.
DAMIEN   I think that wee tortoiseshell across the way is flirting with me - she winks at me and then hides under her
                rug. Do you know who she is?
CHUBBA  Of course I do! She's called Samantha and I bet she's not flirting with you at all - she's probably just shy!!
DAMIEN   We'll see chubby guy we'll see.......

CHUBBA was rehomed today and is probably stretched out on his new sofa giving his orders to his new family for food!!
We are delighted to see him with a new start but Damien misses him. No doubt he will chat to another cat soon!




CHRISTMAS FAIR NEWS

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Christmas Fair on Saturday .Everyone was very generous and it proved to be a great success ! The great news is the final total rased was over £1300 which is fantastic ! Add to that the £1061 from our Flag Day and its been a brilliant week for our cats and kittens !
